An Elderly male was found deceased following a brush fire at a residence in Garfield Township Wednesday evening.
During the investigation it was discovered the male had been burning yard debris prior to his call of assistance . Authorities say the fire seemed to have gotten out of control due to dry and windy conditions.
Mackinac Sheriff Department along with Garfield Township Fire and EMS , Hudson Township Fire and Michigan State Police and DNR all responded to the call.
The bush fire on the 8 acre property was distinguished without any further incident . The fatal fire is still under investigation and no further details have been released.
