Mackinac Bridge Walk Attracts 35,000 Walkers

The annual labour day Mackinac Bridge walk drew one of its largest crowds yesterday with over 35,000 people taking up the challenge of walking the 5 mile stretch of the Mackinac Bridge.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was one of many who led the walk on one of the hottest days of the Summer season. The walk attracts thousands from around the state and also Canadians.

This years walk was one of the biggest in 7 years. The walk attracted 45,000 people in 2016.

The event has been running since 1958 and was only canceled once, in 2020, due to the coronovirus pandemic.
