Latino Arts Centre Advancing Sociocultural Awareness (LA CASA), a new Latino Cultural organization dedicated to promoting art, culture, and social connection, is excited to announce a community-wide initiative inviting the residents of Sault Ste Marie to participate in the creation of the organization’s logo and a special community event.
LA CASA aims to create a space where the community can gather to share Latin-American culture, foster creativity, and build stronger connections with the community of Northern Ontario. To ensure that our identity reflects the spirit and diversity of Sault Ste Marie, we are asking for your help in designing our logo. This is an opportunity for local artists, designers, and anyone with a creative spirit to contribute to shaping LA CASA’s visual identity.
“We believe in the power of community and creativity, and we want our logo to represent the unique identity and character of Sault Ste Marie”, said Noemi Ontiveros co-founder and president of LA CASA.
To participate, community members can submit their logo designs to [email protected] by May 27, 2024. The winning design will be selected by LA CASA’s founding committee and the design will be revealed and recognized at our upcoming community event.
Speaking of the community event, mark your calendars for June 29, 2024. LA CASA will be hosting a vibrant gathering filled with music, art, culture, and fun activities for all ages. It will be a great opportunity to meet new people, learn about LA CASA’s mission, and celebrate the creativity and unity of Sault Ste Marie.
“In recent years, the Latin-American community has become one of the fastest growing communities in Sault Ste Marie”, said Luis Moreno co-founder and vice-president of LA CASA. “The need to represent Latin America and its culture in Canada is rapidly growing, motivating Latinos to find new spaces and platforms where their culture, arts, talent and music can be met”.
The event will take place at The Moose Lodge (more details to follow). Entry is free, and all are welcome. We encourage you to bring friends, family, and neighbours to enjoy a day of community, Latin-American culture, arts, and talent!
