Sault Ste. Marie fire crews responded to a call of a fire in the 200 block of Glasgow Avenue. The fire started shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in the residential dwelling.

Upon arrival, fire crews were directed to the main level of the dwelling where smoke was visible from the kitchen area. Fire crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire.

After further investigation, it was determined that the cause of the fire was ‘unattended cooking’. Sault Fire Services would like to remind all citizens to remain in the kitchen while cooking, be alert, and practice safe cooking at all times.
