On July 26, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 61-year-old Terry Wallenius with operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration 80+), among other charges.

Around 12:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bruce Street and Grosvenor Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with multiple witnesses who reported a vehicle involved in the collision had fled the area. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. Officers located the vehicle on Lansdowne Avenue and spoke with the driver, who they identified as the accused, and developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The accused provided a breath sample into an approved screening device and their result was above the legal limit. The accused was arrested.

The accused is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
  • Fail to Report Accident
  • Fail to Remain

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on August 28, 2023.
