Gas prices continue upward trend in Michigan

DEARBORN, Mich. – Drivers will continue to pay more at the gas pumps this week, as the state gas price average continued to rise, noting the cost as being 4 cents over the past week.

AAA of Michigan indicated that drivers are now paying an average of $3.39 for a gallon of regular unleaded gas. Adrienne Woodland, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokesperson says “If crude oil prices continue to rise, gas prices will likely follow suit.” It was further show that the state average remains lower than the national average, which also increased by 11 cents over the past week to $3.56 per gallon.

Around the Upper Peninsula, the lowest average is to be found in Gogebic County at $3.25 per gallon while the highest continues to be in Chippewa County at $3.73 per gallon.
