Frost Bite Ice Fishing Contest Cancelled

The 9th annual Frost Bite Fishing Contest in Curtis Michigan , planned for February 24th has been cancelled.

Organizers made the decision due to poor ice conditions. The annual ice fishing competition attracts anglers from around the area to land the largest Walleye, Perch or Pike. The Portage Anglers Club made the announcement on their facebook page February 20th.

The forecast calls for sunny conditions with temperatures around 28F. The organizers say “The ice is too sporadic and the warm days won’t help” With just a few days below freezing, the area could see temperatures reach the mid 40’s by the following weekend.
