On July 26, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 38-year-old Troy Cardiff with operation while impaired (drug and/or alcohol).
Around 1:30 a.m., officers patrolling Second Line West observed a driver, later identified as the accused, operating a motor vehicle above the posted speed limit and almost crashing into a train crossing. Officers conducted a traffic stop and developed grounds to believe the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs.
Officers administered a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which the accused failed. The accused was arrested and transported to hospital to provide a blood sample for analysis.
The accused is charged with:
- Operation While Impaired (Drug and/or Alcohol)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on August 28, 2023.
