Falling Ice Closes Mackinac Bridge

Mackinac-Bridge

If you’re headed south across Mackinac Bridge, you could be facing a lengthy delay.

The Mackinac Bridge closed to all traffic Monday morning as a result of falling ice.

The Mackinac Bridge said they have no time line as to when the bridge will re-open.

The falling ice formed from fog freezing to the bridge’s towers and cables.

Similar weather conditions were reported in Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday. The fog froze into micro grains of snow and stuck to all surfaces.
