Death on John Street deemed suspicious – foul play suspected

In an update to a previously reported story the Sault Police service have provided the following release.

On September 7, 2023, around 5:00 p.m. 911 Communicators received a call of a deceased person at a multi-unit residence in the 100 block of John Street. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and found they were deceased.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Taylor Marshall. During the initial investigation the death was deemed as suspicious.

On September 8, 2023, around 1:00 p.m. detectives in Investigation Services executed a search warrant at the residence to further investigate the death. Through the investigation detectives determined the victim had received significant injuries and there is suspected foul play in the death. The incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

The scene is secure, and officers remain on scene as the investigation is ongoing.

No arrests have been made and the cause of death remains under investigation.
