On August 28, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 35-year-old Janet Hodgson with assault.
Around 6:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of two people refusing to leave a business in the 200 block of Bay Street, one of whom – who was later identified as the accused – assaulted an employee by using slurs and spitting on them. When security officers brought the accused into custody, the accused pulled their hair and scratched them.
Police were dispatched to the business where the accused had already been taken into custody by security and the other person had left without incident. The accused was arrested.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 6, 2023.
