Burying a Shotgun in a Snowbank

On January 14, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 32-year-old Jolene Hammel with carrying a concealed weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Around 3:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of someone possibly carrying a gun wrapped in a blanket in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road. Officers were dispatched to the area, where they located the accused near Wawanosh Avenue and Blake Avenue. When the accused noticed officers, they ran away.

Officers located the accused again nearby, where they were trying to bury something in a snowbank. Officers checked what they had buried and found a shotgun wrapped in a sleeping bag. The accused was arrested.

The accused is charged with:

  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

  1. Another one of the not so bright usual suspect who’s name has been around for this type of thing for years.
    Maybe some day the catch and release will stop but I doubt it.
    Trudeau has squandered so much money that Ontario will likely never be able to afford to build the new prisons and many other facilities that it so desperately needs..
