Bring your Kids to Rosedale Park

This Saturday, July 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. promises to be a beautiful day and full of fun! The Kiwanis Clubs of Sault Ste. Marie, Lakeshore and North Eastern Ontario have partnered to create a free family event that will be entertaining for all! With facepainting and special sport-themed stations including soccer, baseball and frisbee, kids 12 and under can rotate through the activities, complete a “passport” of events and win prizes.

There will be a free hotdog, juice box, and freezie to reward participants 12 and under. For all others, refreshments are available at a low cost.

Located at Rosedale park, the event is intended to highlight 8 new playzones that are being installed on the grounds of which the Kiwanis Clubs were a major sponsor, along with the City of Sault Ste. Marie parks department, as well as corporate and individuals sponsors.

All three being volunteer driven organizations, community-minded individuals with a passion for giving back and providing opportunities for youth are invited to get information on how to become a volunteer and/or member by emailing [email protected].

Serge Viau, longtime member of all three clubs and soon to be President of the Kiwanis Club of North Eastern Ontario, visited the First Local Studio to talk about this event, and all things Kiwanis. His dedication and enthusiasm to the work that he does with all three organizations ensure that this event, as well as all others, will be a delight and well-attended.
