On March 30th, 2024 police attended in the area of Pinder Trail at Hiawatha for a mother bear and two cubs.
Bear and cubs were not located, but are believed to still be in the area of Hiawatha. No injuries were reported of any kind. Please be aware of the bear and cubs if attending in the Hiawatha area.
The bears are wandering everywhere looking for food as they are extremely hungry after a long sleep. They will appear in many many places, stay away for them and never ever feed them, this will just encourage them to stick around.
