On June 25, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Brandon Daigle with aggravated assault, among other charges.
Around 1:00 p.m., officers observed a visibly injured person lying on the ground while they were on patrol in the 400 block of Queen Street West. Multiple witnesses pointed out the accused nearby as being involved in the incident. Further investigation revealed the accused had struck the victim multiple times with their hands and with a piece of wood, taken their phones, and verbally threatened their life. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The accused was arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Theft Under $5,000
- Uttering Threats
- Failure to Comply with Judicial Release Order
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
