Alert Ready test today

At 12:55 pm ET today, Ontarians will receive an Alert Ready test alert via cell phone, television, and radio broadcast. Test times are different for other parts of Canada. Alert Ready provides important information to the public about tornadoes, floods, fires, Amber Alerts, and other emergency situations.

The Ontario government classifies these as emergencies. The test sound, which begins with an alert tone, is used to simulate an emergency alert and to let people know that it’s a test and they don’t need to take any action. Alert Ready tests are typically held twice a year: in May and November.
