61st Bon Soo Winter Carnival officially opens

Hundreds of Sault and area residents poured into the Canal District and Machine Shop to celebrate the official opening of the 61st annual Bon Soo Winter Carnival.

With above-seasonal temps and a nice sunset(!) conditions were just about perfect for an opening night.

A fireworks display and the appearance of Mr. Bon Soo highlighted the evening.

Bon Soo’s featured event today is Snowspike…like volleyball, only colder!

There’s also a Glow Skate! set for the Downtown Plaza tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.

  1. Not so nice an experience when two junkies were trying to shake me down. I told them I would gladly go get them a sub if they were hungry, but they wanted no part of that, just cash, which they did not get. I told them to move on or I would summon security.
