Willie Poll is many things–entrepreneur, author, advocate and educator. Her children’s books that tackle complex and potentially divisive issues are acclaimed owing to her gift for tacking difficult subjects with non-threatening language, messages of hope and beautiful art work.
Her first book, “Together we drum, Our hearts beat as One” has recently been shortlisted for the Indigenous voices award this year. Her second book “Minnow” was released in May and a third is on its way.
A registered and claimed member of the Métis Nation of Ontario from the Historic Métis Community of Sault Ste. Marie, she hopes to return to the Sault for a book signing soon.
