Why You Won't Be Able To Watch The American Fourth of July Fireworks

People gather by the thousands on the shores of the St. Mary’s River each July 4th to watch the spectacular show of fireworks from our sister city. It’s a tradition .

But not this year.

For the first time, the fireworks will be out of view for Canadians.

Blame it on construction of the new Soo Lock.

Municipal officials have decided to re-locate the fireworks because of the on-going construction and that could carry on for next year too.

This year’s fireworks will be moved to the Sanderson Field Airport, far enough away from the border so if Canadians want to celebrate the fourth of July fireworks, you’ll have to motor down the I-75.
