On June 11, 2024, detectives with Investigation Services charged 46-year-old Jeffrey MacDonald with uttering threats.
On June 6, 2024, detectives received a report of someone writing threatening posts on a social media platform directed toward Sault Police officers and staff at the Sault Ste. Marie Courthouse. Further investigation revealed the identity of the suspect as the accused. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.
On June 11, the accused attended the Police Services Building and they were arrested.
