RENNER, Ronald Cyril

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather Ronald Renner on Thursday, June 6th, 2024.

Reunited with his mom and dad Lyla and Arthur. Beloved and caring husband of the late Connie. Loving father and stepfather of Ronald Jr and Charles Mergaert (Karen) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Donald Mergaert (Stephanie) of Fallbrook, California. Grandfather to Latasha (Randall) and the late Jason (Brandy) of Sudbury, Melissa (Cory) of Escondido, California, Jennifer (Taylor) of San Diego, California and Ryan and Alicia (Ryan) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Great-grandfather of many. He is survived by his sister Velma (late Bruce). Predeceased by his siblings Margaret (late Robert and late Jack), June (late Jim) and Milston (late Francis). He will sadly be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ron was the guy that could take an impossible situation with no apparent solution and after some deep thinking, would find a way to fix anything. He was selfless and would put his needs aside and drop whatever he was doing to rush to defend or console, repair or rebuild, advise or just listen. If you knew him, you loved him. Ron retired after 25 years at Algoma Steel. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, darts and cribbage. He will be missed by his cribbage partner Keith and all of his other playing partners.

Forever in our hearts and memories. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter and love.

Special thanks to Roberta and Frank Shelleby for always being there for dad and to Dr. Booth and the staff of Sault Area Hospital 3C for the compassion and comfort that you gave our father. You went above and beyond.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 11 am to 12:45 pm, service to follow at 1 pm, Rev.
