Passed away unexpectedly at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 1:20am in his 86th year.
Survived by his treasured wife, Joy Cress. Cherished father of Patty, Maria, Joanne, late Lisa, Val, Vicki, Michelle as well as stepfather of Nancy, Lori and Ken. Special grandfather of many.
John is the son of the late Philippe and Maria Martel. He is survived by his sister Margaret. Reunited with his siblings: Laurette, Oscar, Gerald, Annette (Paul), Margrette (Ray), Cecile (George) and Jean. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
John was a longtime and active member of the Moose Lodge and an avid fan of the Bluejays and Toronto Maple Leafs.
