Last week, 45 year old Ronald Derasp struck a victim with a hammer in the Queen Street East and Millwod street area.
On June 12, 2024, around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of the accused assaulting someone known to them with a hammer . Officers located the accused coming out of a wooded area, and they were arrested. A search of the accused found them to be in possession of a knife and a pellet gun resembling a firearm.
Further investigation revealed the accused had gotten into an argument and struck a victim with a hammer. The victim did not require medical attention. Derasp was charged with Assault With Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Carrying Concealed Weapon.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 12, 2024.
This idiot has a rap sheet so long he should never see the light of day again, yet the catch and release program keeps putting them right back on the street, quicker than you can say Rumpelstiltskin. Hit him with a hammer, it might snap him out of it.
