Enjoy the Fireworks on the 4th- but be responsible.

Why You Won't Be Able To Watch The American Fourth of July Fireworks

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – With the 4th of July celebrations just around the corner many are anticipating the fun and festivities that include parades, a laser light show, and of course, the fireworks. Fireworks may be a fun way to celebrate, but all it takes is one small spark to ignite a fire.

Marquette Fire Department said when disposing of fireworks such as firecrackers, mortars, and bottle rockets, individuals should fill a 5-gallon bucket full of water, and soak them until the embers have fully gone out.

As reminder to anyone who does choose to light off fireworks, they are not permitted on streets, sidewalks, church properties, or any other public spaces, and anyone who breaks this law will be charged with a state civil infraction and receive up to a $500 fine.
