Drug Warrants in Elliot Lake

Three people were arrested and charged after multiple drug warrants were executed in Elliot Lake.

On May 23, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed the Controlled Dugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrants at an apartment on Mississauga Avenue and an apartment on Elizabeth Walk, both in Elliot Lake.

As a result of the warrants being executed, approximately 78 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 457 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, approximately 175 grams of suspected Fentanyl, digital scales, packaging material (dime bags), cutting agents, nun chucks, machete, cash, numerous laptops, and seven cell phones were seized. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $200,000.  

The OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), East Algoma Crime Unit, and uniform members were involved with the investigation.         

Jordan CHASSE, 38-years-old, of Elliot Lake was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Unauthorized possession of weapon

Claire OELMANN, 29-years-old, of Toronto was charged with: Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.

The accused persons are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 11, 2024.

Tetomar BROWN, 39-years-old, of Toronto was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5000

·      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts, or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property

This accused person is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on May 23, 2024.
