Cops and Kids: Always a hit

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Association’s (SSMPA) annual Cops and Kids event was held Saturday morning and Twenty kids, selected by the Child Aid Society, shopped the aisles of Walmart with local enforcement officers, each with $100 to spend on gifts for themselves or family and friends.

They were able to do that through donations made by the SSMPA, Sault Ste. Marie Senior Officers Association, the Batchewana Police Service and Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre officers.
“Walmart has been great,” said Josh Teresinski, President of the SSMPA. “They’re providing anything a kid would need for gift- giving and the staff is cooking breakfast for the kids.”
