Call for Video Production Team

Living History Algoma

Would you like to produce the next Moments in Algoma heritage minute inspired video PSA? Living History Algoma, the non-profit organization dedicated to bringing area history to life through arts and
culture is seeking a local production team to undertake the creation of the next Moments in Algoma PSA.

These Moments are one to two minute dramatizations drawn from area history. We welcome letters of interest from anyone with experience in filmmaking that can assemble the team and the gear required to undertake production.

Assistance with casting and preliminary scripting will be provided along with a budget of $4,000.00 all in. The timeline for production is winter of 2023/24 and is projected to require several winter setups including one out of doors. The featured subject is Anna McCrea. Post-production can be completed in spring of 2024.

The Moments in Algoma PSA series is a project designed to provide an entertaining and educational way for Algoma residents to access area history. Featuring local talent in short dramatized locally produced videos, the concept is inspired by Historica Canada’s popular Heritage Minutes. These Moments in Algoma are intended to be distributed as a public service announcement to be shared freely.

Letters of interest will be accepted until November 20th sent to LHA board member Wendy Hamilton, via email with the subject line Moments in Algoma.
