Santa Comes To Town, Closes Roads

The Rotary Santa Claus Parade will take place Saturday, November 18, 2023. Sault Police remind community members there will be road closures in the downtown area to allow the parade to run smoothly.

Starting at 4:30 p.m. Queen Street East will be closed from Churchill Boulevard to Church Street. This area will be used as a staging area for the parade. Lower Church Street will also be closed from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Queen Street East is the main route for the parade so it will be closed between Church Street and Gore Street starting at 5:30 p.m. Queen Street East will re-open to traffic following the parade at approximately 8:00 p.m.

To provide a safe parade route, there will be no parking on Queen Street East from Church Street to Andrew Street starting at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18. Any vehicle found parked along the parade route after the designated time will be towed from the area.

People driving to the downtown area to watch the parade should expect delays as traffic is expected to be above daily levels.

After the parade is complete, the temporary parking restriction will end, allowing the lawful parking of vehicles in the area.
