(NORTH BAY, ON) – The driver of a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) involved in a single motor vehicle collision on Collins Drive off Highway 11 North in North Bay was arrested.
On November 17, 2023, just after 11:00 p.m. members of the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the North Bay Fire Department responded to the report of a CMV that had driven off the road and rolled onto its side. The CMV was located on Collins Drive in North Bay.
Officers spoke to the driver, and it was determined that they had consumed alcoholic beverages. They were arrested for impaired driving and transported to the North Bay Detachment of the OPP for further testing.
As a result of the investigation the driver, Sukhdev SINGH, a 38-year-old from Abbotsford British Columbia was charged with operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on December 12, 2023.
The accused was also issued a 90-day drivers licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
