Digital Creator program starts today

The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is buzzing with digital creativity this July, as their exciting Digital Creator programming is in full swing. Offering a wide range of activities and workshops, the library has something for everyone – from entertaining gaming and movie events to skill-building artistic and technological sessions. All of these engaging Digital Creator programs are completely free and held alternately at the Centennial Branch and North Branch locations, making them accessible to youth across the community.

Throughout the month, the library’s talented Digital Creator Ivan has a jam-packed schedule planned, with drop-in events taking place every weekday. Gaming enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the library’s collection of video games during the popular Gaming at the Library sessions, while film buffs can enjoy the Movie Matinees, getting lost in a cinematic experience in the library’s cozy spaces. But the real gems are the Open Studio events, where young people aged 10-19 can freely explore and expand their creative and technical abilities using the library’s well-equipped tablets, laptops, and cameras. These unstructured, hands-on sessions allow participants to dive into their own projects and experiments, guided by the expertise of the Digital Creator team.

For those seeking a more focused learning experience, the library also offers several Digital Creator programs that require pre-registration. With detailed information and registration links available on the library’s website, these specialized events promise to be both enriching and enjoyable for the budding digital artists and technologists in the community.

Whether you’re looking to game, create, or simply explore the digital world, the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library’s Digital Creator programming this July has something to captivate and inspire youth of all interests and skill levels. With a diverse lineup of free, accessible events and workshops, the library is truly a hub of digital creativity, fostering exploration, skill-building, and endless possibilities for the young people of Sault Ste. Marie.
