Cole chats with R.I.D.E. and gets charged

(AWERES TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 31, 2023, members from the Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Highway 556 between Cameron Road and Lakeview Drive in Aweres Township. 

Shortly after 11:00 p.m., police observed a pick-up truck enter the R.I.D.E. check area. While speaking to the driver officers determined alcohol had been consumed. The driver was arrested and transported to Sault Ste Marie Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Cole HOLLAN, 29 years-of-age from Goulais River was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired-Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on January 29, 2024.
